When do you have to carry out a periodic technical check-up of a passenger car?

According to Art. 81 para. 6 of the Road Traffic Act, the first periodic technical inspection of a passenger car is carried out before the end of 3 years from the date of first registration. The next inspection must be carried out before the end of a further 2 years, and then annually. The purpose of the inspection is to check whether the vehicle is technically sound and does not pose a threat to safety.
