A green light permits you to proceed past the signal, but it never exempts you from the duty to exercise particular caution, especially near a pedestrian crossing. According to art. 26 ust. 1 of the Road Traffic Act, a driver approaching a crossing must exercise particular caution. You should always be prepared for the sudden appearance of a pedestrian who may have entered the roadway on a red light or has not managed to leave the crossing in time.
