Worn wiper blades do not effectively clear water, snow, or mud from the windscreen, but merely smear it. This causes streaks and reflections that drastically reduce visibility, which is particularly dangerous in difficult weather conditions like those shown in the picture. According to Art. 66 of the Road Traffic Act, a vehicle must be maintained in a condition that provides the driver with a sufficient field of vision.
