What may be the consequence of a long bus drive, when the tachometre indicator is constantly in the red field?

The red zone on the tachometer, visible in the picture, indicates a range of excessively high engine revolutions which are dangerous for the engine. Prolonged driving at such a rotational speed leads to excessive load and overheating of the engine, which can consequently result in its serious and permanent damage.
