How many persons, including yourself, can you transport when you drive a passenger car?

The number of people that can be transported in a car is strictly defined in the vehicle's registration certificate and must not be exceeded. According to Art. 63 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act, this number is adapted to the vehicle's design, including the number of seats equipped with seat belts. Transporting more people than indicated in the documents is dangerous and carries the risk of a fine and penalty points.
