Who is obliged to use seat belts?

According to Art. 39 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act, the obligation to use seat belts applies to both the driver and all passengers in a vehicle equipped with them. Seat belts are the primary passive safety system that protects life and health in the event of an accident. The Act provides for a few exceptions to this rule, for example, for women in a visible stage of pregnancy.
