What is the maximum overhang of a load transported in a motor vehicle, counting from the rear outline of the car?

A load transported by a motor vehicle may not project from the rear by more than 2 metres, measured from the rearmost plane of the vehicle's outline. This is crucial for safety, so that other drivers can correctly judge the length of the vehicle with its load. According to Art. 61 para. 6 pt. 2 of the Road Traffic Act, any load projecting more than 0.5 m from the rear must also be specially marked.
