What would be most affected by wrong adjustment of external mirrors in a motor vehicle?

Incorrectly adjusted exterior mirrors create a large "blind spot" - an area around the vehicle that cannot be seen. This is particularly dangerous when changing lanes or overtaking, as you may not notice another vehicle driving alongside. Correctly adjusted mirrors should show as much of the space next to the vehicle as possible, and only a minimal fragment of its side.
