Are you allowed to accelerate when you are being overtaken?

According to Art. 24 para. 6 of the Road Traffic Act, the driver of the vehicle being overtaken is forbidden from increasing speed. Doing so makes the overtaking manoeuvre more difficult and prolonged, forcing the other vehicle to remain in the lane for oncoming traffic for longer, which creates a serious danger.
