After parking a vehicle, are you allowed to move away from it for no longer than one minute when the engine is running?

You must not move away from the vehicle when its engine is running. According to Art. 60 para. 2 pt. 1 of the Road Traffic Act, this is to prevent theft, accidental movement of the vehicle, and to limit unnecessary exhaust emissions and noise. Before leaving the vehicle, you should always switch off the engine and secure it properly.
