Are you allowed to wait at the nearest junction for the possibility of making a U-turn within the lane dividing the roadways?

At the visible intersection, the median separating the carriageways is wide enough to accommodate a vehicle. When making a U-turn, you are required to yield to oncoming traffic going straight; therefore, you are allowed to stop within the median area (the so-called gap) to safely wait for an opportunity to complete the manoeuvre without blocking the lane you are leaving. This follows from the general rules for changing direction in Art. 22 of the Road Traffic Act.
