What distance must you maintain from the obsatcle you are driving past?

According to Art. 23 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act, when passing an obstacle, you must maintain a safe distance. The regulations deliberately do not specify a value in metres, as the driver must assess the situation independently. When analysing the obstacle visible in the picture (a pothole in the roadway), you must consider, among other things, your speed, the prevailing road conditions, and the presence of other road users.
