While driving an agricultural tractor on a winding road, is it recommended to turn on a differential lock?

The differential allows the wheels on the same axle to rotate at different speeds, which is crucial when driving around corners. Engaging the lock, however, forces both wheels to rotate at the same speed, which on a hard surface leads to the build-up of enormous stress in the drivetrain. Using the lock in such conditions not only risks damaging the mechanism, but also makes steering more difficult and can lead to a loss of control over the vehicle.
