You are carrying a load of 3m in width in a lorry of 2.55m in width. How far can the load protrude from one side of the vehicle?

In accordance with the Road Traffic Act, the total width of a vehicle, including its load, must not exceed 3 metres. A crucial condition also states that the load must not protrude from one side of the vehicle by more than 23 cm. Therefore, although the difference in width between the load and the vehicle is 45 cm (3 m - 2.55 m), the maximum protrusion on one side is legally restricted to 23 cm.
