Can you continue driving straight on, in this situation?

You are not allowed to continue driving. The person with the "STOP" paddle visible at the pedestrian crossing is authorised to direct traffic to ensure the safety of pedestrians, most often children. According to Art. 6 para. 1 pt. 6 of the Road Traffic Act, signals given by such a person are binding for the driver and must be strictly obeyed.
