The braking system in a moped is most often a hydraulic system, whose operation is based on the pressure generated by the brake fluid. A leak of this fluid from a leaky hose causes a drop in pressure throughout the entire system. As a result, the clamping force of the pads on the brake disc is significantly lower, which leads to a weakening or complete loss of braking force.
