Can you drive a truck whose height, including the cargo, exceeds the permissible height?

In accordance with the Road Traffic Act, a vehicle whose dimensions, including its load, exceed established standards (e.g. a height of 4 metres) is considered a non-standard vehicle. Driving such a vehicle on public roads is permitted, but requires an appropriate permit for the journey, issued by the relevant road authority.
