Can you transport an infant on the lap of an adult person?

Transporting a child on your lap is absolutely forbidden and extremely dangerous. In the event of an accident or sudden braking, the forces acting on the body are so great that an adult is unable to hold onto the child. According to Art. 39 para. 3 of the Road Traffic Act, a child under 150 cm in height must be transported in a safety seat or other restraint device adapted to their weight and height.
